Have you ever had the feeling that something has to change? Stupid question if you are living with Fibromyalgia of course you have. That sensation is what happened to me this week. I had an enough is enough moment, and it all began when I discovered Diatomaceous Earth. Or to be more exact Michael did. That discovery has led me to embark upon a great detox and a complete overhaul of my health.

Detox with Diatomaceous Earth?

If you are unfamiliar with Diatomaceous Earth or DE for short, it is something of a miracle product, or so an awful lot of people claim. It is both a food supplement for people and animals and a farming and manufacturing ingredient. You can find out more about it from Dr Axe’s website. Naturally, before taking a new supplement, we did plenty of research and found an awful lot of fantastic outcomes. It cures people of IBS which is a big one for me (read about my IBS experience) and helps take the pain away from people with Arthritis. We struggled to find any negative responses from people who, while detoxing, received the correct dose level in the way that the instructions state. So we jumped in and bought some from Amazon.

Further Supplements

While reading up about the DE we found that many people take Activated Charcoal alongside it, the reasoning is that the DE agitates any parasites and bacteria in the stomach and the Activated Charcoal helps to bundle it up so it can pass through your system. We also found that some of our symptoms link to low levels of Zinc, so we have begun taking capsules of that too. You can get both the Activated Charcoal and the Zinc that we use here on Amazon.

Staying hydrated while detoxing

All the advice we read states that you need to drink extra water when you begin to detox, and that has caused one of the most significant changes in me. I’ll be honest as someone who doesn’t like tea or coffee I mainly drank Pepsi Max; I’m talking about three or four pints every day. Because I don’t trust the Pepsi to provide the hydration I need I have cut this right back. I now allow myself to have one pint in the middle of the day, this week, and I plan to reduce this gradually over the next couple of weeks until I have phased it out. I am drinking filtered water for the rest of the day, and I have noticed a massive change from this. I feel more hydrated which has caused me to feel more alert and also as silly as it may sound, cleaner.

My Progress

At the time of writing this, I am on day five of the process. I appreciate it will take a few weeks all in all, but I wanted to tell you about it now because I am already noticing significant improvements. My IBS symptoms have settled down dramatically, I have been dancing between Constipation and Diarrhoea for several weeks, and my stomach has been behaving beautifully with no painful gas problems. Of course, the water and charcoal will both have contributed to this improvement. I am currently feeling more alert, more motivated and my pain levels are more manageable than before.

Detox Prognosis

I am optimistic that this big detox will be nothing but great. It is too early to tell, but my Hyperhidrosis symptoms> seem reduced. The last couple of mornings I am happy to say I have woken up in a dry bed. No, I don’t have incontinence problems before you ask, cheeky! I will keep you up to date with my progress, but I can honestly say I am feeling better than I have for months. Unfortunately, the detox won’t help with the weather headaches, but I can’t have everything.

If you have taken Diatomaceous Earth or other detox products, do tell me in the comments. I would love to hear about your experience.
