Welcome to my new craft declutter series. For those of you who have been following me for a while, you will know I have made a beginning to my decluttering journey beginning with my Craft Stash. It all started with this post about shopping your stash. The decision to start with my craft stash was for two reasons, the first being that it takes up the most space and the second that it will be the hardest to do, so everything else should be easier – right?

This process has involved me selecting an item that came as a gift with a craft magazine and using it and making a decision whether to keep it. That is great and I am still going to do those what is on my Craft Desk Today posts most Sundays. However, I subscribe to about five or six different monthly magazines as well as special ones like the Hunkydory one so at this rate I will never actually make any progress! Which brings us to #midweekminimise I am going to challenge myself to remove 10 items from a given category each Wednesday. No stopping and trying them just pure “KonMarie” style do they spark joy. The reason I have chosen craft discs is that I had a pile of them on my desk waiting to be looked through for a few weeks (or make that Months!) and have not done it yet on top of having this rather large collection.

I know ten discs are hardly going to cut it but it is a beginning and I’m sure once I’ve let ten go I will be able to let another ten go in a few weeks.
So what are the chosen craft discs to declutter!

The Best of My Craft Studio Christmas
I like My Craft Studio and I have a few of their full Christmas Collections so do I need a best of? No

Do Crafts Digital Designer Forever Friends New Arrival
I really like the Forever Friends Range but I have Serif Craft Artist and My Craft Studio so I do not need DoCrafts Digital Designer as well. Does it even still exist???

DoCrafts Digital Designer Happy Days
Pretty much see comments above!

Essential Greetings
This is a really nice idea but if I need a topper creating to match a project I will automatically go into Serif Craft Artist and create my own – I’ve never used it and I don’t need it, but a crafter who is not as comfortable creating things digitally may appreciate this.

Exclusive Christmas Collection
There is no real reason for this choice other than the fact that I have never used it in the last five years so am I really going to start using it now? That’s what I thought!

Raspberry Road Designs Christmas Accessories
Well, I’m looking at this thinking that I quite like vintage designs almost tempted to see what is on the disc but I have lots and lots of vintage Christmas designs and I have not looked at this for five years either so step away from the disc drive and keep typing…

Book Folding Fun
I love Debbi Moore and I have quite a few of her discs but as much as I like the idea of book folding I have never tried it and I doubt I would have the patience if I am honest so I would much rather someone could enjoy (and use!) this instead.

Digital Crafting Essentials
There is some great artwork on here by several designers I like BUT when it comes to the Dreamees or Crafter’s Companion I do have their own collections that are featured on this disc. I am so tempted to keep it for the other artwork but especially with digital designs, I am really struggling to shop my stash I am always downloading new artwork instead so be a tiny bit ruthless I’m sure I will not miss it…

Crafter’s Companion Digital Crafting Collection
This one wasn’t too hard as I think I have all the collections shown so I think I’m covered!

Complete Cardmaking
Well, I must confess I am quite tempted to keep this because I don’t have the Thelwell range but I have survived without it so far so once again time to be ruthless and let it go!
Success, 10 Items selected. This is only a very small beginning, perhaps I need to put it out there to keep me motivated!

Do you have a craft stash that is bigger than you can justify the space for? Would you like to start taking baby steps to get it back under control? If so join me each Wednesday as we fight to get our stash under control. So this week was disc week if you are not a digital crafter feel free to jump in at week two when I will be looking at stamps…
Until next time,
Gentle Hugs,
Susan
