My Easter Crafting and a bit of a mashup

Iย just wanted to share with you some of my Easter Crafting. The main image was created in Serif Craft Artist First using Laura Hepworthโ€™s Easter Digikit. This was then finished in Canva for the wording to be done. The first card is made from the Hunkydory Step into Springtime Designer Deco-Largeย Collection Easter Bunny. This image just lent itself to Easter perfectly.

I have to confess that I usually make my Mum a specifically religious card but I loved this image so much that I couldnโ€™t resist using it. The decoupage layers have all been shaped using my Tonic Floral Crafters Tool Set, I canโ€™t believe how much more professional my card making has become since having this kit. The layers were fastened together with Collall 3D Glue Gel which is my preferred adhesive for shaped decoupage layers. When using simple greeting topper I tend to go with Foam Pads for speed. The card was finished off with some gold mirror card as a matting layer and three amethyst gems.

The Second Easter Card

The second card I made was for Dad to give to Mum, there is basically a standing order in place that every card Dad wishes to give to Mum is made by me. Well, Iโ€™m saying a standing order but they are all freebies so I think he gets a good deal. I had very little notice to make this card so I went for the fastest version possible and used the Hallmark Card Studio to create it. When I make the Hallmark Cards my preference is to not print it as an entire card but to print out the front with a little bit of extra space around it and then create a topper from it and matt and layer it. This design has been double matted with spring green and pink pastel mirror board to match the main image. I personally think creating a matting layer or two makes all the difference and can turn a fairly simple card into something special.

The Downton Abbey and Gramps Mash-Up

You may remember last week I mentioned a card I had made which was a mash-up of the Downton Abbey and La Pashe Grumps ranges so this is the final card I am going to share today as it may not be an Easter Card but it has been made in Holy Week. The concept came to me when I looked at the caption on the sentiment which is a quote from the Dowager Dutchess saying โ€œAt my age, one must ration oneโ€™s excitementโ€ and as soon as I saw this the images from the La Pashe The Grumps range floated to mind. I think the Birthday Balloons Image goes so well with the quote along with the sentiment Happy Blooming Birthday.

I hope you have been inspired by my cards and maybe have a go at creating your own Easter projects, or maybe a mashup of contrasting styles.

Until next time,
Gentle Hugs,
Susan
